100k Competition MIT
The MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition has awarded money to budding entrepreneurs since 1990. Today, the program is comprised of the Elevator Pitch Contest, the Executive Summary Contest, and the Business Plan Contest.
The six "tracks" of competition are emerging market, energy, life sciences, mobile, products & services, and web/IT, allowing students from all disciplines to compete. In fact, the most successful teams are often interdisciplinary, incorporating skills nurtured in two or more of MIT's five schools.
According to the $100K website, the competition has contributed to the development of over 130 companies that have created 2,500 jobs.
