Mission & Values

The Asian American Association (AAA) is a cultural club that celebrates Asian American culture through a number of events and gatherings. AAA is another family and resource for any MIT student who is interested in Asian American culture.

We keep in mind six values throughout the year:

UNITY: Bringing together students of all cultures and backgrounds in a welcoming environment.

AWARENESS: Promoting awareness of Asian American issues and concerns.

OPPORTUNITY: Providing resources and opportunities for the development of leadership and excellence.

PRIDE: Encouraging Asian American students to take pride in their heritage and identity.

SERVICE: Serving the local community with the unique perspective of an Asian American cultural club.

COMMUNITY: Developing a campus community in which we share an understanding and appreciation of Asian American experiences.

AAA hosts service events, career workshops and study breaks and mixers throughout the year to help its members develop themselves academically, personally and socially.

Our signature event in the spring term, Grains of Rice, brings together performers and cultural acts from the greater Boston area for a night of entertainment and Asian food. We also fly in your favorite YouTube celebrities each year to headline Grains of Rice.
