- The Engineers earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Championship Tournament, marking the program’s second appearance and first since 1974. Seeded No. 4 in the double-elimination tournament, MIT fell to No. 5 Rhode Island College (12-2) and No. 1 Tufts University (3-2).
- MIT compiled an Institute-record and conference-high eight NEWMAC Academic All-Conference awards. Brian Doyle and Dan Hyatt received their third award while Aric Dama, Zachary Carr, Grant Iwamoto, Andrew Jeanguenat, Max Ockner and Ricardo Perez were first-time honorees.
- No. 3 seed MIT fell to No. 1 Wheaton College, 4-3, in the title game of the NEWMAC Championship Tournament. The Cardinal and Gray’s run began with a five-run rally in the ninth inning which put it past No. 2 Babson College, 6-5. Two days later, the Engineers lost to Wheaton (4-3) but bounced back to defeat Babson, 7-6, and advance to the championship game.
